The organisers
The Orchard Gathering was organised by 3 partners:
Fife Diet Seed Truck
The Seed Truck was a three year outreach project of the Fife Diet. From April 2012, to March 2015, the Seed Truck set out across Scotland from its headquarters in Burntisland. The vision of the project was to sow the seeds of a better food system and by delivering a wide-ranging series of workshops on food sovereignty and climate change.
The Seed Truck was a joint project between the Fife Diet and WWF Scotland, with the day-to day running of the project by the Fife Diet. The project was supported by players of People’s Postcode Lottery and also Awards For All Scotland.

Forth Valley Orchards
Forth Environment Link (FEL) began life in 1989 as the Kippen Nature Club, with the aim of teaching children about biodiversity and nature. The club won several prestigious awards. In response to community need and interest, the organisation grew in both mandate and geography, expanding to include adult education and demonstration projects. The organisation changed its name to the Kippen Environment Centre, and then in 2005 became Forth Environment Link, a registered company with charitable status.
FEL serves three local authority areas - Stirling, Clackmannanshire and Falkirk. In 2008 Forth Valley Food Links merged with Forth Environment Link, bringing an additional focus on sustainable local food production and consumption. FEL is now a leading provider of environmental education and action for sustainable living in the Forth Valley area and beyond. To find out more about us, check out our current projects.
